The first meeting of the Gibraltar Private Sector Workers & Pensioners Association was held at the John Mackintosh Hall on the 8th June. It was convened by the interim Caretaker Committee and was very well attended.
To start with, a brief presentation was given setting out the aims and purpose of the Association. This was followed by the election of five Committee members for the first year. They are John Martinez, Leslie Bruzon, Lyana Armstrong-Emery, Ray Murphy and Andy Ellul.
Main issues for consideration were raised and were noted by the Committee and these will be carefully considered.
The new Committee will be sending the media a further statement soon setting out the aims of the Association and will provide contact details and the date and time of the GPSWPA weekly surgery.
The Association has already over 700 supporters from the private sector and will be actively expanding even further.
